Due to work commitments, I was unable to attend the opening sessions. Bronwen and I arrived at the Travelodge around 5 pm giving plenty of time to settle in and meet the rest of the party in the bar prior to a meal out - Janet and Jill went to the ‘posh’ dinner in the company of the lovely Frank Hamel from Luton North whom they had taken down. Frank is now 92 with a mind like a razor and great company. Jean and Chris had chosen the Bear for our evening meal and we drove ourselves there which was a BIG mistake as we couldn’t find anywhere to park when we got back to the hotel. A very pleasant venue to start the weekend. |

The older (by which I mean those who have been in the club longer) Someries Rotarians will remember Kathy Leather, who is now working for the Worcester Warriors Rugby Team in Worcester.
Kathy was a founder member - and was one of the 'faces of Rotary' chosen by the RIBI publicity team to be part of the recent Rotary PR campaign. Kathy took this picture and said that there were about 45 of these in and around Birmingham.
