Lend a Hand is due to be undertaken on the 21st April 2007. Lend a Hand, is basically where groups of Rotarians from Luton Someries and Luton clubs jointly, work together, to undertake relatively small projects to help out elderly or disabled people who are unable to find or afford to pay, people to undertake these jobs. It is seen as not only a great "hands on" service project but the liaison between Luton Rotary Club and Luton Someries Rotary Club is a very positive experience, enjoyed by all the Rotarians.
Last year, the jobs ranged from painting fences, railings, bedrooms and bathroom, to putting hooks back on curtain rails, quite a lot of gardening was undertaken and lots of rubbish was taken away to the tip via Crawleys Waste Disposal.
This is a great opportunity for everybody to partake in a real service project, so put it in your diaries, 9am to 1pm on the 21st April. Dave Eayre is organising it.
