The Rotary Clubs of Luton
Someries, Luton North and Luton Chiltern all participated with the help and
assistance of local doctors and nurses from the Luton and Dunstable Hospital
in raising awareness of the effect of high blood pressure and possibility of
stroke.
At Melson Square in The Mall
(kindly sponsored by management of The Mall), a test bay was erected for a day.
352 people had their blood
pressures taken. Of those 352, 15 were
recommended as urgent referrals to attend the Walk-In Centre as their blood
pressure was very high. 18 other people
were referred to their GP.
