Rowles House Expedition Print E-mail

Several of the members and honouree attendee ‘Lucy’ had been busy baking on a lovely morning on 15th August 2009. Lynn was busy sandwich making with some other members and transporting all the lovely grub down to Julia’s who was hosting the event.

Because of some sniffles and concerns about resident’s health, we wheeled eight ladies from Rowles House, down the pavement to Julia’s where we met Peggy who had been brought along by Jill.

Along with the staff we managed to get the ladies comfortable in chairs before being served a wonderful tea, lots of yummy sandwiches and cakes. Not one of the ladies managed to miss their blouses or dresses.

After tea, Pat one of the helpers from Rowles house led the community singing and some apparent exercises and banter with the elderly ladies.  The eldest present was 106 but was still very jolly and good fun.

Everybody participated in the singing.  There was some very good banter and then all too soon it was time to wheel them back to Rowles House for a loo stop.

Thanks to Lynn for organising, Jill for organising the singing, Julia for the use of her lovely marquee and garden and all the sandwich makers and bakers.

A thoroughly good time was had by all.

Jean
