someries_005.jpgSaturday, about 8.30am, the sun shining and the gardening equipment at the ready. First to arrive at the house was Mary and Steve Fox both armed with dangerous looking tools!!!

It soon became apparent that this project, clearing and tidying the garden and making it user friendly was going to take some time.

Along came Robert with his petrol strimmer and soon the task of clearing the back garden was underway. Steve embarked on hand-chopping the bushes and trees. Then Bronwen arrived followed by Jenny and Bert.

someries_008.jpgWhat good workers, everyone found a job to do and the project soon started to take shape. The chopped bushes and grass cuttings were soon bagged-up and the paths swept.

The same procedure was applied to the front garden, more strimming for Robert and fence mending and clearing for Steve and Bert, leaving the rest of us bagging up the cuttings ready for disposal.

We could not have been luckier, Jean and her son arrived just in time to load all the bags into her car for a pit stop at the tip on her way home.

someries_029.jpgApart from Saturday being the hottest day of the year, we all worked hard - A GOOD RESULT as you can see by the pictures.

Mary Morris (hot, tired & thirsty)
