Gallery Sets2010 - School Dictionaries (3)This year we provided dictionaries for Wauluds Bank and also William Austen children 2010 - Summer Showcase (35)Our music scholars did us (and themselves) proud with a fantastic evening of stunning music. 2010 William Austen Dictionaries (6)We gave Rotary Dictionaries to all the year 4 children at their Leavers' Assembly. 2010 - Luton Triathlon (8)The winners in the various categories of the Luton Triathlon 2010 organised by Active Luton at Putteridge Recreation Centre 2010 - Celebration Of Youth Music Concert (56)The Rotary clubs of Luton Someries, Luton North, Luton Chiltern, Luton and Barton combined their efforts to fill the Stopsley Baptist Church on 27th February. The push was to raise funds and awareness of the End Polio Now/Thanks for Life campaign. 2009 - Breast Cancer Awareness (1)Pretty in Pink... fines for pink-wearing Rotarians: bigger fines for non-pink-wearing Rotarians... 2009 - Safari Supper (4)A mad dash around the town and countryside rewarded those that took part with fantastic food - and a fun evening. Pink Someries (13)The club was happy to forego the usual weekly swindle to donate it all to Breast Cancer Awareness. Fines were the order of the day, especially for those not wearing pink... 2009 Jazz in the Garden (83)This year's Jazz in the Garden was in honour of Malcolm Foxley - and his friends and family did him pround. Over 160 turned out on a glorious sunny day to enjoy an afternoon of friendship and music. Thank you all. 2009 Rowles House Tea Afternoon (27)Julia and David opened their house and booked some fabulous weather for the residents of Rowles House to visit for afternoon tea and cakes... 2009 Induction Dinner (8)A stiflingly hot evening at the Chiltern Hotel was the venue. Among all the awards - the biggest cheer was for DG Les who presided over the handover to DGE Sandy. Cool. 2008 Car Rally (3)An expedition across the wilds of Bedfordshire - ending up with traditional local cuisine. Well - a chinese in Offley... 2009 Someries En France (50)Il y a u pub pres d'ici? Oui? Magnifique!! The gallophiles headed to la belle France for the day... NSPCC Cheque Presentation (11)The NSPCC Area Representatives, the Duchess of Bedford and members of the club all met at the Inn at Woburn to hand over a BIIIIIG cheque. Dell Farm 2008 (20)Bob, Mary, & Craig took this year's 'Dell Farmers' to the High Ropes at Milton Keynes's Willen Lake. Bob and Craig were forced to take part... 2008 Barton Hills Farm (19)The club visited Barton Hills Farm for a fascinating (and windy) tour of the Shaws' arable farm surrounding Barton Springs. President's Night 2008 (37)At the Riverside Suite with Pan's People and The Gay City Rollers - and other Rotarians... Woburn NSPCC Golf Day 2008 (23)A charity golf day at Woburn - with the prizes awarded by The Duchess of Bedford. Lend a Hand 2008 (12)Kind of like Bob-a-Job for grownups - only the recipients of the help don't even have to pay a 'bob' for the work... Dell Farm 2006 (18)Our trip to Wicksteed Park with the 'Dell Farm Boys' from Luton North's project to entertain and challenge disadvantaged young lads from Luton. GSE Canada 2006 (11)The five Canadians from District 7070, Ontario, Canada, joined us for a few days over the Easter weekend 2006. A good time was had by all! 1260 Conference 2006 (4)Rotary District 1260 Conference at Cardiff was a sombre, serious affair. Although these pictures tell another story... GSE Brazil 2005 (5)A trip to the Luton Central Mosque was followed later in the evening by much eating, drinking, and being merry at the Man Ho. DG's At-Home 2004 (6)The annual 'At Home' for District Governor Janet Peirce was held at Nick's in September - and the stunning weather made for a fantastic day. 1260 Conference 2004 (16)District Conference in 2004 was held in Bournemouth, and the club stayed at the hotel which was previously the house built for Lily Langtry. |
